Parents' Weekend 2021

While we are over the moon excited to be back on grounds this fall, we are even more excited to share that our Parents’ Weekend was a success! This fall, we were able to bring our Parents’ Weekend back full of fun events for not only members of our chapter but for their families and friends too. Additionally, Parents’ Weekend is an exciting event for our chapter as it is one of our most philanthropic events of the year.

Our weekend started off Saturday morning with our annual Red Dress Brunch. We hold this event for our members and their family each year in support of the Alpha Phi foundation. In addition to food, members enjoyed a wine grab, vendors, a live performance from the Hullabahoos, and a guest speaker. This year, we were joined by Amy F. Carrier, the president and CEO of the Centra Lynchburg General Hospital and an Alpha Phi Alum from Penn State who spoke with us about women’s heart health.

Starting at 6 pm, members, their parents, and dates were invited to Boar’s Head Inn for pictures and a cocktail hour. Dinner was served at 7pm and the live band performed shortly after. As such, dinner was also quickly followed by a night of dancing. Most importantly, however, we hosted our Silent Auction at the Parents’ Formal. Our Silent Auction is central to our Parents’ Weekend. Items and Baskets from local Charlottesville businesses and restaurants, as well as UVA gear and experiences are all available for auction throughout the event. All of the proceeds benefit our national philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation, which funds research and educational programs to support the advancement of women’s heart health.

We were so glad to have such a great turnout for this years Parents’ Formal, and we cannot wait to see you all at our future events.
